Pathways to Becoming a Coach
At Thunder Gymnastics, we offer a variety of coaching roles tailored to different levels of experience. Whether you’re interested in recreational classes or competitive gymnastics, we’ll support your development every step of the way.
Gymnastics Australia’s Coach Accreditation Framework offers a clear path:
Fundamental Gymnastics Coach: Your entry point into coaching, where you’ll learn class management and basic biomechanics through self-paced, on-the-job training.
Intermediate & Advanced Coaching: For those looking to further develop their expertise.
Minimum Age Requirements
Fundamental Coach: Minimum age of 15 years (Training can begin at 14, with full accreditation at 15)
Intermediate Coach: Minimum age of 16 years
Advanced Coach: Minimum age of 17 years
For Judges courses:
Beginner Judges: 14 years
Intermediate Judges: 15 years
Intermediate Bronze and higher: 16 years
